Twitter Post Tuesday #1: Stay On Track

90% of the tweets on my timeline are about the typhoon and flood in the Philippines which make me really sad. Though I have to be honest, I am quite grateful I am not there. I had a bad experience with the typhoon!

I was in college when Bagyong Ondoy hit the Philippines. We were having a school program when suddenly the staff in our school announced that we needed to evacuate. We all braved the super heavy rain. While crossing the street, the freaking flood took my shoes. I had to chase it of course. Due to the current, I fell on my butt and almost got hit by a car. But that's not the worst part. We couldn't go home because there were no public vehicles on the road. The trains were operating so we took it hoping we could get a ride. Nope. The flood was too high, about 6 feet. So we went back to the school and spent the night. The next morning, we were hoping there'd be vehicles already but there weren't. I walked for 2 hours from the train station to my house (my friends are from the other side of the city so I was alone). Along the way, I saw cars on top of each other, damaged houses and mud. There were mud everywhere.

I know some people had it worse but I seriously hate those moments. I still remember it like yesterday.

Anyway, on to my favorite twitter post. I got distracted which is ironic because the twitter post that caught my attention today says: "@MarilynMonroeID: It's important that you remain consistent. Don't allow distractions to throw you off course."

I needed this because I get distracted easily. My goals are affected by my surroundings. There was a point in my life when I really let distractions throw me off my track. I was lost. But I don't regret it because I was happy, it was what I wanted. When it all ended, I was sad but quite relieved. I got up on my feet again and reminded myself of who I really am. :)
